Position: Litigation Paralegal

Location: Washington D.C. (Hybrid, 4 days onsite)

Pay: $85-115k/yr (depending on experience)

Experience: At least four (4) years of experience; Must have prior experience with document preparation and management

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal, related course, or equivalent experience

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: M-F, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic law firm client.

Job Description:
  • Oversee the organization and support of multiple cases.
  • Coordinate with support services, vendors, litigation support, clients, opposing law firms, and courts, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Perform legal research, generate status reports, logs, and indices.
  • Compile and prepare evidence by researching records, discovery documents, transcripts, and databases.
  • Draft complaints, answers, document requests, interrogatories, memos, routine notices, affidavits, motions, and jury instructions.
  • Assist with document review for privilege and prepare privilege logs.
  • Prepare documents and exhibits for appeal
  • Prepare for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials by preparing trial notebooks, exhibits, and jury instructions.
  • Attend and support trials, including the preparation of statistical and factual memoranda.
  • Seek out billable work on a proactive basis and ensure accurate entry of time to be billed to clients.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
  • Experience overseeing multiple case workflows simultaneously and managing large/complex projects.
  • Strong software skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Expert in legal research and document review systems (Relativity, PACER, LexisNexis, Westlaw, CourtLink, Shepard’s).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and a team player.
  • Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; flexibility to work weekends or evenings occasionally as needed.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, dynamic legal environ
