Job Description
Location: Remote (Must go into Los Angeles or Orange County office as needed)
Pay: $103,500 to $130,000 annually
Experience: 5+ years experience with Health and Welfare Administration experience in a professional services or law firm environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Business is preferred or equivalent professional work experience in Human Resources or Benefits and Absence Management will also be considered.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Day Shift, 9:00am to 5:30pm (Must be able to work beyond scheduled hours as required, especially at year-end)
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Benefits Supervisor to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:
- Provide subject-matter expertise and support for the administration of the core U.S. health and welfare plans.
- Supervise performance of the Health & Welfare analysts and assist with goal-setting to ensure continuous professional. development; as well as monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, DOL and IRS regulations in collaboration with department leadership.
- Respond to benefit inquiries regarding plan provisions, enrollments, status changes.
- Support member education and participation campaigns in all program and plan offerings, including open enrollment projects, working with vendors/brokers consultants to manage project plans, employee communications, presenting plans to all employees, gathering and analyzing data, and preparing recommendations.
- Serve as liaison with third-party vendors to provide prompt assistance in resolving benefit-related issues.
- Identify and recommend improvements to current processes to ensure that overall performance is aligned with business objectives and metrics.
- Support the implementation of new programs, annual enrollment process, portal content updates, webinars/live events.
- Assist with the execution of system changes including testing updates and new configurations to identify reoccurring issues and partner with internal departments to implement customer service oriented solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Workday (or other HCM systems).
- Employee Benefits Specialist certification (CEBS) or Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR) is a plus.
- Knowledge of benefits and related laws, regulations and practices; (i.e. COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, Section 125, qualifying family events, PPACA, ADAAA, FMLA, CFRA, PDLL, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, ERISA.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels in the Firm.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Advanced time-management skills, with proactive and client service oriented mindset.
- Exhibit a high level of self-initiative and meet set deadlines.
- Must be a collaborative team member and progressive thinker with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks from inception to completion in a fast-paced changing environment and drive to support a positive work environment within a global, matrix Firm.
- Act with a high degree of integrity, professionalism and discretion handling confidential employee information.
- Exercise good judgment at all times with respect to data privacy, security and all Firm policies and procedures.
