Law firm seeks a Professional Development and Diversity Coordinator with 2 years of legal field attorney professional development and diversity experience.  This is a newly created position, and candidate may work from the Los Angeles or Orange County branch office.  Candidate will assist with developing and implementing programs including skills training, mentoring programs, career development, and coaching.  The Coordinator will work closely with various Practice Group Leaders and administrative departments and is part of the Human Resources Department reporting to the Attorney Recruiting and Development Manager.  Responsibilities will include assisting with designing, implementing and promoting professional development programs to meet the firm's objectives and foster retention; assisting with the annual associate review process; monitor jurisdictional CLE compliance requirements and make recommendations achieve compliance; support the development of the LinkedIn Alumni page and provide regular updates to the page; coordinate payment of bar dues for all states and attorneys; and maintain professional development information in viDesktop. Candidate will maintain relationships with professional development organizations and monitor trends in the legal marketplace; partner with internal staff on the implementation of the Firm's Diversity & Inclusion Action Plan, including planning events, serving as a resource on best practices, and overseeing the diversity & inclusion budget and expense approvals.  Candidate will also be responsible for updating intranet content; support recruiting efforts as needed (scheduling, circulating evaluations, candidate communications, job postings), and support human resources team as needed.

The Diversity Coordinator must have experience using Microsoft Office 2010, detailed knowledge of viDesktop or other applicant tracking/learning management systems, and social media experience.  Knowledge of continuing legal education (CLE) protocols is essential.  Successful candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have superior time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines. Candidate should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to multitask and exercise good judgment under pressure.  The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
