Position: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite)
Pay: $85,000 to $131,000 annually
Experience: 5+ years’ experience in employee relations and employee health & welfare benefits in law firm for a forward-facing employee HR management role
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

Job Description:
- Extensive benefits administration and employee relations experience to support staff and attorneys with benefits changes/updates.
- Consults and collaborates with other Benefits team members and Payroll to ensure flawless administration of benefits and payroll for employees throughout leaves, accommodation or workers’ compensation claim.
- Proactively liaises with third parties such as insurance and health and wellness service providers to maintain an excellent standard of service delivery to employees.
- Maintain proactive communication with management and HR leadership on status of all leave, accommodation, workers’ compensation or other welfare concerns.
- Collaborates with counsel.
- Develops wellness programs and promotes staff participation Administers leaves of absence, medical accommodations and workers’ compensation claims in accordance with all applicable regulations including ADA, COBRA, EEO, ERISA, FMLA/CFRA, HIPAA, ACA, Social Security, Workers Compensation, and other applicable federal and California or District of Columbia codes and disability programs.
- Consulting and advising employees and leaders on compliance with employment-related programs, policies and procedures, employment laws, employee relations matters, conflict resolutions, disciplinary processes.
- Conduct thorough and timely investigations into employee complaints and allegations of violations of employment policies.
- Collaborate with HR management, leaders, attorneys, and employees to ensure that investigations are handled in a fair, timely manner consistent with Firm policies.
- Maintains accurate/confidential records of employee relations cases.
- Provide coaching/guidance to managers and employees regarding employee relations issues, investigations and managing performance.
- Administer standardized employee performance review programs including probationary reviews and annual performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with HR and management to address and resolve employee concerns.
- Develop/implement employee relations programs and initiatives.
Position Requirements:
- Experience in benefits administration is key and Workday experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated understanding of ADA, COBRA, EEO, ERISA, FMLA/CFRA, HIPAA, ACA, Social Security, Workers Compensation, applicable federal and California state codes and disability programs.
- Ability to establish cross-functional relationships at all levels, convey and recommendations (oral/written), and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize and analyze data.
- Experience consulting/advising on employment law principles (prohibited harassment, violence prevention, privacy and investigations); performance management and advising on performance issues.
