Position: Legal Secretary / Practice Specialist I
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Experience: Must have at least (6) years of experience providing litigation secretary support
Education: Completion of some college courses is required (Bachelor’s degree and Secretarial Certification is preferred); ABA approved Paralegal Certification is also a plus!
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: M-F, 9:00am to 5:30pm (Occasional OT)
Pay: $50,700-120,900/year depending on experience
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Legal Secretary / Practice Specialist to join our dynamic law firm client.
Job Description:
- Format, input, edit, retrieve, copy, scan, and transmit legal documents
- Prepare pleadings and discovery documents for filing and service
- Schedule depositions with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court reporters
- Create pleading/discovery binders, indexing and filing documents, organize and file case documents
- Manage and plan calendar of all appointments, conferences and meetings
- Daily review and prioritization of client correspondence and communications
- Schedule conference calls and on-site/off-site meetings
- Prepare draft engagement and confirming letters as needed
- Prepare and submit new matters; change intakes for existing matters concerning adverse parties and billing contact and other information and collaborate
- Prepare and submit preliminary conflict checks on behalf of the Partner
- Partner timesheets, expense summaries, and client bills
- Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
- Perform additional administrative and support tasks as requested
Position Requirements:
- Must have advanced proficiency in Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite (including styles and advance formatting options), and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent technical, organizational and administrative skills as well as strong interpersonal relationships abilities
- Ability to interact well with all levels of firm personnel
- Must have the ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
