Position: Partner Compensation Manager
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA, New York, or Washington, DC (Hybrid, 3 days in office)
Pay: $130,000 to $175,000 annually
Experience:
- 6 years of financial systems and general accounting experience.
- 4 years experience managing, maintaining, and assisting with all partner compensation-related duties and responsibilities associated with a global partnership with focus on partner distributions and taxes and accounting capital accounts in a law firm (large firm preferred).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (required).
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Day Shift, 9:00am to 5:30pm

Job Description:
- Calculating and reviewing partner monthly and annual cash distributions, working closely with finance, and tax departments to ensure effective and timely distribution process.
- Reviewing/issuing monthly statements to partners, including detailed breakdowns of gross distributions, deductions, and capital account balances.
- Ensuring proper tax withholdings are made for all partner distributions and handling any necessary tax reporting.
- Reviewing partner capital accounts and updating compensation schedules on a monthly basis; conducting reconciliations.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for the administrative aspects of and questions relating to partner monthly distributions statements.
- Responding to partner inquiries and providing timely/accurate information.
- Monitoring/reconciling partner capital accounts; assisting in the annual return of capital for departed partners.
- Reviewing/analyzing personal charge and tax accounts, identifying and resolving any issues.
- Preparing Partner cash flow schedules; working closely with other functional areas (accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, budget, and treasury groups).
- Supervising staff members work to ensure that best practices are followed, including updating policies and procedures to fit the current conditions of the business.
- Developing/implementing policies and procedures related to partner compensation; driving process improvements, utilizing technology to improve efficiency.
- Communicating effectively with Partners about distributions and other related questions.
Position Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and in administering Windows and web-based accounting programs, particularly for legal-specific accounting systems (Elite 3E).
- FAS Fixed Assets and Chrome River.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external audit and tax professionals and with a distributive team and organization.
- Working knowledge of partnerships, pass-through entities and fiscal year ends.
