Los Angeles law firm seeks a Records Manager with 5 years of relevant experience to manage the information governance program and handle the firm's paper and electronic records from creation to disposal. Candidate will manage the daily operations of the records department and ensure staffing coverage across all offices; implement firmwide information governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal standards; formulate continuous improvement strategies; conduct annual records inventories and audits in each office; work collaboratively with other departments to further efficiency; and conduct orientation and training programs for records staff and other users. The Records Manager will prepare and monitor the records department budget, and control costs associated with records creation, storage, and retrieval, participating in negotiation of vendor contracts. Candidate will maintain current knowledge of new records management technologies. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
A Bachelors' degree is required, and records and information certifications are desirable. Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) and records management databases, preferably iManage. Extensive knowledge of records procedures and records retention practices is essential. The Records Manager must be able to travel occasionally to all offices. Desired candidate must have excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills; the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with internal and external contacts at all levels; outstanding customer service orientation, and be extremely reliable.
