Job Description

Law firm seeks an Accounting Manager with 7 years of managerial and hands-on accounting experience in a professional services or law firm environment to provide coverage for 4-month temp assignment. Position will report to the Controller and CFO, and oversee daily operations of 12 accounting staff members, including ongoing performance management. Manager will supervise all aspects of financial operations, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring compliance with established procedures and controls; perform month-end and year-end close, including system balancing and reporting; prepare monthly financial statement package, such as financial analysis and balance sheet reconciliations; participate in annual budgeting process (budgeting and projecting firm expenses and providing support to department managers); prepare annual tax filings, including business property tax statements, business tax statements, and review of 5500 return and 1099 reporting; manage routine banking, including transfers, positive pay, and daily cash reporting; administer corporate credit card program; provide ad-hoc reporting and data analysis; and act as administrator of firm accounting, timekeeping, expense reporting and financial reporting software systems, including user training and support, troubleshooting, and managing upgrades.
The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Position is hybrid, 2 days onsite.

Job Requirements

A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.  Accounting Manager be proficient with Elite Enterprise, ADP, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).  Strong technology orientation preferred with the ability to envision how technology may best be utilized to enhance efficiency.  Familiarity with software similar to eBillingHub, Collaborati, Serengeti, DataCert (ShareDoc), CounselLink is needed.
