Job Description

Los Angeles law firm seeks an Administrative Assistant with some clerical experience to provide support to legal secretaries.  Responsibilities include preparing legal documents; maintaining files; managing calendars; entering attorney time; coordinating attorney travel arrangements; and coordinating payment of vendor invoices.  Other duties include conducting guided Internet/SEC EDGAR research; generating correspondence; drafting presentations; preparing and maintaining spreadsheets; monitoring client news stories, legal publications, and websites to provide summaries to attorneys; handling shipping and courier arrangements; assisting with electronic data room assembly and document uploading; and overflow reception coverage.  The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Job Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a college degree is highly preferred.  This position requires strong MS Office and Adobe Acrobat features skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.  Outstanding written and verbal communication and proofreading ability is essential.  Candidate must be organized, think independently, and maintain a high level of attention to detail while meeting strict deadlines.  Knowledge of time tracking and billing applications is preferred.
