Job Description


Position: Billing & Collections Assistant

Location: Century City, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)

Pay: $62,000 to $75,000 annually 

Experience: 1-year legal billing experience to proactively administer billing responsibilities and prepare/process invoices while monitoring outstanding receivables.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire  

Schedule: Day Shift, 8:30am to 5:00pm 

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Billing & Collections Assistant to join our dynamic law firm client!    

Job Description:   
  • Performing client billing and collection activities for assigned clients.
  • Monitoring aging of unbilled fees/unapplied funds and managing collection efforts. 
  • Meeting with the Revenue team to discuss monthly billing, outstanding invoices and strategy for collections. 
  • Generating Proformas for misallocated time and ensuring time entries are in accordance with client policy. 
  • Preparing billing packages (cover letters/invoices).
  • Communicating new/changes in client policies to timekeepers. 
  • Assisting with time entry narrative changes including additions, corrections, deletions. 
  • Applying approved discounts and monitoring volume discounts based on thresholds reached. 
  • Generating billing variance reports and write-off reports including acquiring approvals. 
  • Managing electronic billing/eBilling to upload  and accurately submit invoices in LEDES to clients via designated eBilling systems.
  • Establishing working relationships with eBilling site vendors to ensure three way communications (site, client, firm) and track status of bills submitted, identify issues, and work to address rejections/reductions.
  • Monitoring assigned client payments and coordinating collection efforts.

Position Requirements:     
  • Elite Enterprise or Aderant legal billing experience is preferred.
