Job Description


Position: Billing Coordinator 

Location: Downtown Los Angeles (Hybrid, 2+ days onsite) 

Pay: $80,000 to $100,000 annually 

Experience: 3 years law firm billing experience to perform and execute complex billing/eBilling and collection activities. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or business administration is required. 

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire  

Schedule: Day Shift, 9:00am to 5:30pm  

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Billing Coordinator to join our dynamic law firm client!    

Job Description:   
  • Generating, editing, finalizing, submitting, distributing, and preparing monthly pre-bills and subsequent invoices and appeals for submission to clients. 
  • Monitoring aging of unbilled fees. 
  • Preparing and maintaining billing reports, reconciliations, schedules, and analyses.  
  • Apply retainer funds as directed. 
  • Process write-offs in accordance with firm policy. 
  • Resolve billing-related issues with internal and external parties. 
  • Create new billing formats and handle special projects, including complex billing and client-driven requests. 
  • Demonstrate expertise in all facets of eBilling. 

Position Requirements:     
  • Experience with legal billing software is required.  
  • Aderant and eBilling portals is strongly preferred. 
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). 
  • Ability to read and interpret engagement letters and complicated government contracts to determine and apply client and matter-level rate structures.  
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical skills. 
  • Show great attention to detail while handling a high volume of bills. 
  • Position works closely with the members of the Finance team, as well as Attorneys/Secretaries and reports to the Billing and Collections Director.
