Job Description
Position: Billing & Collections Lead
Location: Century City, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Pay: $105,000 to $120,000 annually
Experience: 5+ years' experience in law firm billing/eBilling and collections experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Billing & Collections Lead to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:
- Reconcile client account and payment discrepancies.
- Assume billing responsibility due to absence or workload issues of billers.
- Respond and communicate with clients regarding billing and collections questions.
- Work with Manager to understand and help facilitate the billing process and month-end close.
- Participate in the collections process to ensure monthly and yearly revenue goals are achieved and lead monthly collections meetings to ensure accuracy of client notes and arrange follow-up to calendar items.
- Work with attorneys to identify billing formats and process improvement for collections efforts.
- Review/prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports analysis.
- Review new engagement letters and monitor rate structures and client guidelines.
- Work with Manager to streamline work and develop reporting with outside consultant.
- Assist Manage to assess new software products; participate in implementation, testing and training.
- Provide scheduled updates according to monthly billing and collections processes; monitors billing transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and conformance to company policy.
- Oversee special projects.
Position Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with Aderant Classic or Expert Billing, Paperless Billing and Bill Blast is strongly preferred.
- Must be highly knowledgeable about legal accounting processes with a broad understanding of Aderant and other legal billing applications.
- Excellent analytics and communications skills are required to dissect financial information and communicate with attorneys, clients, management, and department staff.
- Must be able to meet required deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service; Utilize technology resources to maximize efficiency and participate in and monitor remote work to maximize productivity and accuracy.
- Exercise considerable judgment/discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
