Position: Chief Information Officer 

Location: Must reside in California in one of the following cities - Los Angeles, Orange County, Sacramento, or San Francisco (Hybrid, 2 days onsite)

Pay: $265,000 to $325,000/yr (Depending on experience) 

Experience: 10+ years of experience to lead the Firm's Information and Support Services Department  

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent experience in a related field, is required.  

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire  

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am to 5:30pm

Job Description:   
  • Oversee the Information Technology, Knowledge Management, Risk Management (including Records and Intake/Conflicts), and Practice Support functions Firmwide. 
  • Keep the Firm competitive by capitalizing on innovations in technology to enhance client and employee experiences. 
  • Develop and manage a multi-year technology vision and a capital/operations budget for Firm technology, including equipment, software, applications, and systems. 
  • Recommend opportunities to provide better service to clients, perform work more efficiently, or gain a competitive advantage through technology. 
  • Ensure a 24/7 highly responsive environment and assure outstanding client service to internal and external users. 
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of technology systems, voice and data networks, telephone systems and other related equipment/software. 
  • Serve as the Firm designated Information Security Officer, responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies. 
  • Lead information security audits and requests, from receipt of questionnaires to final remediation of all applicable findings.
  • Oversee a wide range of vendor relationships for capital assets and outsourced service providers, negotiate terms, and manage effective usage of these resources. 
  • Develop and implement programs to increase the acceptance and use of technology in the practice of law. 

Position Requirements:     
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience managing an information security program and reviewing and addressing security policies and design. 
  • Possess the ability to execute and maintain a formal business continuity plan. 
  • Ability to bring the benefits of technology to bear on solving business issues.  
  • Ability to manage costs and risk. 
  • Knowledge of legal practice is required. 
  • Effectively communicate and work with lawyers in a client-service-driven environment. 
  • Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to inspire, motivate, build consensus, and execute.
