Job Description

Law firm seeks a Conflicts Manager with 6 years of supervisory experience in a large law firm (candidates with strong managerial experience but lacking conflicts background will be considered ) to ensure efficiency in the daily operations of conflicts checking for the US and Asia, liaising with attorneys in the region regarding the conflicts process, and hiring, training, and managing assigned conflicts teams.  Position reports to the Director of Firm Conflicts and is responsible to supervise approximately 20 Data Entry and Conflicts Analysts within department, including 1 staff member in Asia; serve as primary point of contact for the department for attorneys and staff during U.S. West Coast business hours, assisting with resolving issues, providing updates, escalating requests, and ensuring overall efficient services; streamline and manage complex/urgent conflicts check requests; create and implement departmental strategic hiring plan with HR and lead recruitment and hiring efforts; liaise with other Conflicts Managers, HR, and recruiting regarding lateral Attorney hires to ensure compliance with conflicts policies, and coordination of lateral hire checks; assist with high-level conflict checks to meet deadlines and attorney expectations; oversee conflicts staff orientation and training in West Coast and Asia branch offices; assist supervisors and directors with workflow, ensuring tasks are completed within requested period and adhering to firm guidelines and policies; lead outreach on resolving conflicts issues, new policies and procedures, and special projects; work collaboratively with department management to ensure successful coverage within various branch office time zones for high priority conflicts issues, attorney concerns, and a unified approach to long-term projects; and support ad-hoc special projects related to department development.

Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Position is hybrid, 2-3 days onsite


Job Requirements

A bachelors degree is preferred.  An Assistant Conflicts Manager looking for the next step in their career is encouraged to apply.  Candidate will be highly organized and have strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff and outside contacts.  Ability to collaborate with attorneys in a high-paced environment to identify and resolve issues while providing excellent customer service is desired.
