Large law firm seeks a Diversity and Inclusion Director with 10 years of Director level diversity experience in a professional services organization; law firm experience preferred.  The Director will further the firm's objective of building and maintaining an inclusive environment, and advise the firm on diversity-related issues, develop programs, manage data, and interface with the community and professional organizations.   

 The Diversity and Inclusion Director will provide consultation and support to Diversity Committee and firm management in the establishment of goals, objectives, and strategies; develop and communicate diversity initiatives; evaluate the effectiveness of the firm's structure, policies, and practices as related to diversity matters; be a resource for women lawyers, lawyers of color, LGBT lawyers, and other diverse professionals, as they work to develop their careers; work closely with the appropriate committees to increase the firm's hiring and retention of diverse attorneys; research, track and analyze information with respect to recruitment, retention and promotion of women and diverse attorneys; and research, identify, and work with others to implement best practices in furtherance of these goals.

The Director will collaborate to develop strategies to capitalize on the firm's commitment to diversity and to publicize examples of successful efforts in marketing materials, national or regional publications, or "best of" lists. This role will also be responsible for providing strategic counsel on the work assignment process, associate reviews, and client relations.

Program management responsibilities include working with committees and departments to develop programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce; developing training to educate attorneys, managers, and staff on how to recognize, accommodate and appreciate individual differences; measuring the effectiveness of diversity initiatives, and reporting same to committee and management.  Candidate will coordinate sponsorship or event hosting opportunities; oversee the preparation of responses to requests for diversity information and surveys; and maintain the firm's diversity statistics.  The Diversity & Inclusion Director will monitor trends inside and outside the legal industry; and manage the diversity budget encompassing sponsorships and related expenditures to ascertain return on investment.  The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required; a JD is highly preferred. Occasional travel is required.
