Large law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Docket Clerk for a long-term temporary assignment.  This position can be based out of Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago.  Selected candidate will support the Patent and Trademark practice group and maintain the CPi docket management system firmwide.  Responsibilities include monitoring email and correspondence from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); calendaring all requests and IP correspondence; communicating with practice group to ensure accuracy, compliance, and best practices; creating new application portfolios, maintaining record of documentation and filings, and closing records; updating data into system; generating docket reports; and conducting searches of the USPTO website to retrieve information and update records.  Selected candidate will be expected to maintain current knowledge of relevant IP law, rules, procedures, and best practices.  The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The IP Docket Clerk must have a thorough knowledge of full cycle intellectual property rules and procedures pertaining to state, federal and foreign trademarks, copyrights, domain names, and trademark oppositions.  Candidate must have strong research skills, the ability to analyze and apply information, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high-quality work product.
