Position: Litigation Docketing Analyst

Location: Century City, CA (Hybrid, 1 day onsite/week)

Pay: $95,000 to $115,000 annually

Experience: 3+ years of experience to provide comprehensive litigation calendaring services, oversee calendaring processes, and quality assurance for all matters handled by attorneys while adhering to calendaring procedures and processes.

Education: A bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or experience/education equivalent required.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Day Shift, 9:00am to 5:30pm (Ability to work overtime as needed)

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Litigation Docketing Analyst to join our dynamic law firm client!   

Job Description:
  • Independently manage calendar firm litigation, bankruptcy, and agency matters and all related deadlines and scheduled events.
  • Mentor and train team members while performing quality assurance/quality checks.
  • Assist the manager in administering department databases/applications and assist in conducting ongoing effective firm training programs/presentations on docketing systems, policies, and protocols.
  • Assist in conducting orientations for all newly hired attorneys, paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
  • Provide recommendations to the manager to continually improve firm docketing best practices, procedures, and workflow processes; assist the manager with creating, updating, and maintaining department materials.
  • Follow and comply with all calendaring procedures, best practices, and department processes for all matters calendared.
  • Respond to requests regarding calendared events and deadlines, court procedures, rules, and filing processes.
  • Conduct research to determine the proper court procedures necessary to follow/apply; advise attorneys and staff of findings.
  • Occasional trips to court to file, retrieve, and deliver documents; coordinate with vendors/couriers to arrange for documents to be served.
  • Create, review, and distribute calendar and case update reports; compile and prepare analysis of data for miscellaneous requests and reports.

Position Requirements:  
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), and Adobe PDF Creator or equivalent.
  • Experience with MS Access or similar DB software. 
  • Experience working in a Managing Clerk, Managing Attorney Department, or Litigation Docketing Department (substantial knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures, and considerable experience computing deadlines for California state, California federal, and appellate courts, and in state and federal agencies across the country). 
  • Experience with rules-based calendaring software preferred. 
  • Must have the ability to research, analyze, and summarize work in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, while drawing valid conclusions and making sound judgments. 
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and sort priorities with a minimum level of supervision. 
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and handle sensitive situations with the highest confidentiality.
