Estate Planning Paralegal
Century City, CA
Century City law firm seeks a Trust and Estate Paralegal with 2 years of estate planning experience. Selected candidate will assist attorneys and work collaboratively with other paralegals and staff on all aspects of estate planning and trust administration. Candidate will prepare basic estate planning documents including wills, trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives, transfer documents (including deeds and assignments); and communicate with clients throughout process. Candidate will handle trust administration including County Assessor filings, statutory notice, creation of sub trusts, allocation of assets, and transfers to trusts. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
An ABA-accredited paralegal certification (or attorney attestation) is required, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook functions. Knowledge of federal gift and estate issues is required; experience with Insurance Trusts and fictitious trusts is desired. The Trust and Estate Paralegal must have an understanding of Form 706 and 709. The Estate Planning Paralegal will have good communication and interpersonal skills, and will maintain sensitive information in confidence. Ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
