Century City law firm seeks a Legal Secretary to float and provide litigation and transactional assistance to attorneys covering leaves of absence and overflow needs.  The Legal Secretary will manage calendars and lists; create, proofread, edit, maintain, and file complex legal documents; route correspondence; answer phones; transcribe dictation; enter attorney time, billing, and expenses; and schedule meetings, conference rooms, and travel.  The Floating Legal Secretary will leave detailed notes on activity for returning legal assistants.  The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

A high school diploma is required, and a college degree is desired.  The qualified candidate will have a strong knowledge of court filings and procedures, including state, federal, and electronic filings; Appellate Court knowledge is a plus.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), FileSite/iManage, Adobe Acrobat, Omega (or other time keeping software), transcription software, and CompuLaw (or other docketing software). Typing of 50 wpm is needed.  Familiarity with AIA Contract Documents and CAR Forms, and Legal Solutions and File & ServeXpress is also a plus.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, and the Floating Legal Secretary must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be adaptable with the ability to work with various personalities.
