Intellectual Property Litigation Secretary

Century City law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Litigation Secretary to assist attorneys in the Trademark practice group. Selected candidate will have 3 years of experience supporting a partner, with 2 years of copyright/trademark experience. The IP Litigation Secretary will assist attorneys with full-cycle trademark matters including: drafting correspondence (application reporting, reminder letters, and registrations); tracking deadlines and coordinating with attorney; and assisting with electronic filings via TEAS. Candidate will also process foreign associate communications and payments and research information, including status of trademark matters. The Litigation Secretary will also be responsible for maintaining files; assisting with new business intake; entry of attorney time; and coordinating with accounting to complete billing process. Candidate will make travel arrangements; process expenses; answer telephones; maintain calendars and contact lists; and schedule meetings and appointments. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a 37.5 hour week.
Selected candidate must be proficient with IP docketing software, USPTO online resources (TESS, TEAS, TSDR, TTABVUE, ESTTA); and have general knowledge of U.S. and international Intellectual Property Law. Candidate should be proficient in the usage of a document management system. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment on a busy desk.
