Position: Legal Recruiting Manager

Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid flexible, 1-3 days onsite)

Pay: $132,000 to $160,000 annually

Experience: 4+ years of management level recruiting experience in a law firm or professional services. Prior supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire 

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Legal Recruiting Manager to join our dynamic law firm client! Responsibilities include overseeing and managing the recruitment process for 1L, 2L, and 3L candidates; this role involves supervising the Recruiting Coordinator and ensuring the efficient execution of all related activities.

Job Description: 

1L Summer Program Recruiting:
  • Work closely with Recruiting Co-Chairs to ensure the recruiting process runs smoothly and meets objectives.
  • Develop/implement strategies to enhance recruiting efforts.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of candidate files.
  • Attend/lead committee meetings.
  • Prepare agendas and maintain meeting notes.
  • Schedule/coordinate interviews.
  • Provide interview statistics and insights to recruiting co-chairs for committee meetings.
  • Track  post-season communications and maintain the process.

2L Recruiting/On-Campus Recruiting:
  • Maintain and oversee candidate data in ViDesktop.
  • Develop/implement strategies to attract top 2L talent.
  • Work with key stakeholders to push recruiting efforts and improve processes.
  • Oversee/manage registration process for OCI, including providing recommendations on number of schedules and whether to participate in full or half-day schedules.
  • Collaborate with Recruiting Co-Chairs to identify OCI teams and conduct outreach to solidify participants in OCI programs.
  • Prepare logistical emails containing binder contents and law school-related information.
  • Collaborate with HRIS Administrator to ensure candidate data accuracy in ViRecruit.
  • Create/present meeting materials and pivot tables for use in providing OCI statistics.
  • Lead the offer process, including identifying person to extends the offer, assigning follow up and acting as a point of contact.
  • Coordinate second look dinners, including staffing, sending logistic details to candidates, and letterhead.

3L Pre-Clerkship Recruiting:
  • Create job descriptions to post on LinkedIn (for Post-clerkship 3L Summer position; Corporate position); screen applications and present viable candidates to Recruiting Co-Chair for review/approval.
  • Maintain and oversee candidate data in ViDesktop.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews.
  • Lead the offer process, including identifying person extending the offer, assigning follow up and acting as a point of contact for questions; develop and implement strategies to attract top 3L talent.

General Recruiting:
  • Update law school grade information charts for candidates interviewing and receiving offers.
  • Develop/implement strategies to improve overall recruiting processes/outcomes.
  • Work with key stakeholders to push recruiting efforts and remain competitive in market.

Position Requirements: 
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote), Workday (HRIS) and ViRecruit.
  • Ability to develop and analyze reports and projections regarding market trends in diversity, legal recruiting and retention.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills needed to manage time well.
  • Prioritize effectively and handle multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of legal employment issues; proficiency in using social media platforms to promote firm recruiting efforts.
