Job Description
Position: Litigation Assistant
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Pay: $75,000 to $120,000 annually
Experience: 3+ years of experience in Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree, or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Litigation Assistant to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:
- Draft and complete documents/paperwork supporting patent prosecution, ITC practice needs.
- Prepare, revise, and format legal documents (pleadings, discovery, motions) and file/eFile and serve in state and federal courts.
- Provide document production services, styling and formatting of documents; proofreading/checking for appropriate formatting, spelling, grammatical errors.
- Manage eDocket and maintain secondary docket; collaborate with docketing department, client team, and USPTO.
- Manage emails by acknowledging, distributing, and saving to electronic document repository (NetDocs).
- Create, organize, maintain, and retrieve client communications, research, and administrative files (NetDocs).
- Anticipate attorney needs and prepare necessary documentation in draft for review.
- Schedule appointments and arrange for travel, with an eye to efficiency, budget and quality of practice.
- Invoice and expense report review and processing (Chrome River).
- Input Partner's time in Intapp time and record information.
- Submit conflicts checks and new client matter information through Intapp; prepare engagement letters and assist with client billing.
- Prepare documents and packages; ensure that all attachments, exhibits, and enclosures are intact.
- Proactively assist attorneys by researching court rules for state and federal courts, local rules, and judge preferences.
- Interact and correspond professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Back-up other assistants and provide exceptional collaborative services across teams and offices.
Position Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), NetDocs, ECF and PACER.
- Must have excellent communication skills. Familiarity with Intapp Open, Chrome River or similar platforms preferred.
- Must possess keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically and analytically.
