Position:Â Litigation ParalegalÂ
Location:Â Downtown Los Angeles, CAÂ (Hybrid, onsite for the first six months, then 3 days in office)Â Â
Pay: $95,000 to $110,000 annuallyÂ
Experience:Â 10+ years of experience to support the Bankruptcy and Commercial group. Â
Education:Â High school diploma is required.Â
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire Â
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pmÂ

Job Description:Â Â Â
- Assist with preparation of complex legal documents, discovery, deadline management, mid-level legal research activities, and trial preparation.
- Ability to mark and generate a table of contents and table of authorities.
- Assist with commercial collections: pre-judgment and post-judgment remedies, filing and service of summons and complaint, applying for publication orders, prepare and file default and stipulated judgments, filing of application of attachment, prepare, record and file lis pendens, deposition notices, subpoenas and notices to consumers, compilation of personnel data/records and communication with requesting parties, prepare and file writs of execution, memorandum of costs, abstracts of judgment, prepare and file notices of judgment lien, prepare instructions to levying officer utilizing County Sheriffs, US Marshals, and registered process servers to conduct levies, prepare and file applications and Orders for Appearance, research regarding an investigation of assets of judgement debtors.
- Assist with commercial real estate: preparation of UCC Financing Statements and filing in various states, knowledgeable in preparation of foreclosure proceedings.
- Partner with case teams and other colleagues to address client needs, ensure case organizational protocols are followed.
- Provide onsite trial support.
- Conduct cite checks on federal and state court filings, including substantive proofreading and editorial content review.
- Conduct calendaring and docketing legal analysis, including maintaining an active and accurate secondary calendar for case teams.
- Conduct legal research.
- Assist with discovery: drafting shell written discovery/objections, participation in document collection processes and subsequent document reviews, production of privilege logs.
- Support trial lead by responding to direction and exhibiting ownership over deliverables prepared in support of overall trial objectives.
- Implement post-matter closing instructions: compliance with litigation holds, compliance with document destruction policies, compliance with protective order provisions, and preparation of bills for recoverable fees and costs.
- Actively participate in firm-sponsored trainings and strive to apply learned principles in ongoing work.
Position Requirements:Â Â Â
- Must have experience in eFiling using CM/ECF for federal bankruptcy, district and appellate courts and eFiling vendors (One Legal, LLC, TrueFiling and Case Anywhere, Nationwide Legal Attorney Service and First Legal Attorney Service).
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), and preferred iManage or document management system, Milana/Aderant, Litera/document comparison program, Best Authority, Adobe.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, and legal processes with the ability to quickly respond to constantly changing instructions, particularly at trial.
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative in seeking work and managing caseload.
- Must have excellent communication skills, cite-checking skills, and the ability to produce accurate and timely results.
- Ability to follow directions on requests from letterhead attorneys and execute assigned tasks.
