Job Description

Law firm seeks a Litigation Paralegal with 10 years of federal and California state litigation experience to support the Environmental & Land Use - Litigation practice group in all stages of litigation including pretrial and trial.  Experience with environmental or toxic tort matters is preferred.  Responsibilities include organizing, maintaining and storage of documents and files; large case management and eDiscovery; analyzing matters for evaluations and status reports; drafting shells for complaints and answers, routine notices, affidavits, motions and petitions; proofreading and revising legal documents; outlining depositions, indexes and summarizing documents; compiling mailings; conducting research and locating cases, depositions, opinions, reports and matter related data using all available resources; reporting on data from reference materials and discovery; interviewing parties, witnesses and experts and obtaining written statements; preparing cases for trial including drafting Pretrial Orders, jury instructions, requested voir dire, jury investigation, schedule and track witness and exhibit lists, motions and subpoena; and establishing pleadings, attorney trial and expert witness notebooks, and document indices and lists.  Paralegal will enter time and follow ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state.

Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with travel and overtime flexibility needed.

Position is hybrid, 3 days onsite

Job Requirements

A bachelors degree and paralegal certificate are required.  Must have advanced knowledge of federal and California state court filing procedures, electronic discovery, cite checking and the ability to conduct database searches utilizing Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, PACER, Relativity, and other search engines.  Litigation Paralegal will manage multiple competing tasks to meet deadlines and have strong interpersonal skills.
