Litigation Secretary - Temporary

Downtown Los Angeles law firm seeks a Litigation Secretary with 2 years of experience for a temporary position expected to last 3 to 4 weeks. Selected candidate will assist attorneys with court filings in state and federal courts, including eFiling; transcription, proofreading, redlining, and scanning of legal documents and correspondence; preparing new client intake and conflict waiver letters; entering attorney time and billing; and communicating with clients. Additional duties include coordinating travel arrangements; maintaining attorney Outlook contacts; scheduling appointments and meetings and preparing calendar requests; overseeing docket and file maintenance; answering phones; and typing and managing e-mail.

 

 

Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word 2010, Excel, and PowerPoint functions; and type 65 wpm. Proficiency with general and local court rules regarding filing, including electronic filings, is required.  Selected Litigation Secretary must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and proofreading ability. Candidate must have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task effectively.
