Position: Litigation Secretary 

Location: Del Mar, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite) 

Pay: $78,000 to $117,000 annually 

Experience: 6+ years of experience to support IP litigation attorneys and paralegals in patent litigation and PTAB filings with all aspects of cases from initial filing through trial and appeal. 

Education:  
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, plus relevant work experience.  
  • Bachelor's degree (or some college) and ABA paralegal/secretarial certificate is preferred. 

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire  

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (Occasional OT)

Job Description:   
  • Prepare and file/eFile legal documents with federal, state, and appellate court rules, calendar/travel management, case management, and billing/expense support.  
  • Formatting, editing, and managing legal documents, pleadings and discovery.  
  • Scheduling/coordinating depositions, court dates, filing deadlines, calendars, appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and related planning. 
  • Maintaining calendar with accurate court/filing deadlines. 
  • Conduct conflict checks and handle new matters (preparing engagement letters and managing client/case documents). 
  • Preparing and filing official correspondence. 

Position Requirements:     
  • Proficiency in Windows 10, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, video conference software (Zoom/Teams) and experience working with a document management system are needed.  
  • Strong working knowledge of Superior, State, Appellate, and Federal Courts rules,trial procedures, P-TACTS and document productions and eDiscovery are needed.  
  • Possess excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
