Position: Litigation Secretary
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite, fully onsite first 90 days)
Pay: $85,000 to $110,000 annually
Experience: 5+ years of experience to support 3 litigation attorneys with complex and specialized trial litigation and secretarial support activities.
Education: High school diploma (or equivalent); college degree preferred.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Day Shift, 9:00am to 5:30pm (flexibility for OT)

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Litigation Secretary to join our dynamic law firm client!  

Job Description: 
  • Complete drafting, revisions, and finalization of correspondence, pleadings including tables of authorities (TOA), court forms, memoranda, and redline comparisons.
  • Conflicts checks, opening new client matters, and obtaining conflict waivers.
  • Draft and serve discovery documents.
  • Prepare and send correspondence to clients/opposing parties.
  • Assist attorneys with arranging and preparing for depositions.
  • Assist with trial preparation and support.
  • Calendar relevant dates.
  • Process invoices, organize files, and prepare expense reports.
  • Arrange travel, meetings/depositions, and remote court appearances.
  • State, civil, complex federal, and appellate filings (manual/electronic) and service of pleadings.
  • Maintain and organize attorney files in accordance with department policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Attend training sessions.
  • Production, hard copies/flash drives/pdfs for transmittal to clients.
  • Retrieval and assembly of exhibits and hearing binders.

Position Requirements:    
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines to work through complex document markups and instructions in a timely manner.
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal and State court electronic filing systems, ADR and JAMS mediation processes including knowledge of various court rules on the state and federal levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Minimum typing speed of 70 wpm.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Adobe required.
  • Proficient in iTimekeep or similar time entry software.
  • Advanced proficiency in NetDocs or similar.
  • Land Use/Environment experience preferred.
