Position:Â Business Development Specialist
Location:Â Washington, D.C. or New York, NY (Onsite)
Pay: $85,000 to $110,000 annually
Experience:Â 3+ years of experience to support lawyers and BD Managers in the implementation of strategic business plans for the transactional practices that include both visibility-raising initiatives and targeted business development activities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pmÂ
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:
- Support RFP, pitch, and proposal processes from planning through submission.
- Work with attorneys, marketing staff, and other firm personnel in the development/execution of proposals and presentations.
- Understand and identify the most applicable content, edit existing content, and draft new content for proposals and pitches.
- Produce initial draft of materials, and coordinate information/research requests with research analysts, accounting personnel, and other personnel.
- Coordinate of assembly/production, delivery, and recordkeeping of finished product; conduct follow-up process to capture results.
- Internal/external deal reporting, including coordination of the league table submission process and matter collection.
- Coordinate and prepare submissions for major awards and legal directories (Chambers and the Legal 500).
- Assess opportunities for conferences, seminars, forums, sponsorships, and speaking engagements; assist with events.
- Assist with maintenance of the firm’s experience database (Foundation) as well as practice and industry-specific deal lists.
- Leverage CRM and Experience databases to identify and confirm relationship targets, and relevant experience for BD opportunities.
- Oversee the editing and production of individual practice or industry team newsletters/communications.
- Draft, update, and maintain a suite of marketing collateral (relevant practice group brochures, one-pagers, PowerPoint decks, attorney bios, experience lists).
- Mentoring junior staff on best practices.
Position Requirements:Â Â Â
- Must have experience working on RFP’s, pitches, and proposals.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).Â
- Knowledge of business development processes required.
- Demonstrated exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Knowledge of the proposal process and legal marketing experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a variety of proprietary marketing databases, such as Foundation or InterAction, is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and demonstrated effective project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, multitask, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
