Position: Business Development Industry Specialist
Location: New York or Washington D.C. (Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite; Tues-Thurs)
Pay: $82,000 to $110,000 annually (Exempt)
Experience: 3+ years of experience in marketing, business development, or client relations roles in a professional services or law firm, to raise the firm’s visibility and expand client relationships in the industry sectors.
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (OT as needed)
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Business Development Industry Specialist to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:
- Working with BD industry leads to support marketing, business, and client development activities/projects for designated groups.
- Building deep knowledge of the designated industries, clients’ business environments, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Supporting the execution of industry-group business development plans and cross-practice initiatives, and helping to monitor progress.
- Assessing market conference opportunities and managing logistics for sponsorships, speaking engagements, and conference participation.
- Coordinating firm-hosted events with Events team, including on-ground assistance.
- Supporting Proposal Manager with cross-practice proposals for clients in designated industries.
- Drafting/executing cross-practice or industry-focused submissions to The Legal 500 and Chambers, and others.
- Working with the marketing team to identify opportunities to create and implement integrated branding and profile-raising campaigns, and industry-focused social media channels.
- Preparing and maintaining industry-focused BD/marketing collateral, brochures, PowerPoint decks, attorney bios, experience lists, and webpages.
- Overseeing editing and production of industry team newsletters or communications for marketing.
- Mentoring junior staff on best practices.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of business development processes required; knowledge of proposal process preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfortable using a variety of proprietary marketing databases such as Foundation, InterAction, and Intapp DealCloud is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, and demonstrate effective project management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
