Job Description


Los Angeles law firm seeks a Payroll Coordinator with 2 years of experience processing payroll for a large organization.  This position is on-site.  Primary responsibilities include multistate bi-weekly payroll processing; updating and maintaining employee, benefit deductions, retirement changes, direct deposits, garnishments, tax and miscellaneous changes; processing manual checks; transmission of payroll; importing data from time and attendance to payroll system; audit payroll entries; and running reports for payroll processing as needed. 

The Payroll Coordinator will review timesheets, verify new hire import from payroll to time and attendance software; and assist the Payroll Manager as needed.  The Payroll Coordinator will assist with retirement plans; manage employee 401k deductions and loan payments weekly, requiring knowledge of company polices and plan information for compliance with Federal ERISA laws; assist with retirement audits and reconcile mid-year and year-end census data. 

The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for a 37.5-hour week

Job Requirements

The Payroll Coordinator must have an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions.  Candidates with an associates degree, experience with Celergo/ADP International Payroll System, Kronos time, Cognos reporting skills, or prior experience using UltiPro Time and Attendance software are highly preferred.  Candidate must have excellent communication skills and be detail oriented with the ability to work effectively with end users.
