Job Description

Seeking a Portfolio Manager with 5 years of collections or finance experience with a portfolio of $50M in a law firm or professional services environment.  Candidate will determine the collectability of a large portfolio of firm receivables and coordinate the collection of monies, including clients involved in bankruptcy; correspond with Billing Attorney to propose course of action to maximize collection amount; advise Attorneys on matters of policy with respect to ethical issues, debtor work, billing procedures, and write offs and escalate legal issues to management; effectively resolve billing issues through coordination with the Billing department; research disputed account balances and suggest future actions to avoid such disputes; negotiate settlements with clients; develop strategic relationships with internal/external clients to help achieve firm fiscal goals; and handle additional collection-related projects as assigned.

Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexibility to work overtime, particularly during month-end and year-end.

Position is hybrid, 3 days onsite.

Job Requirements

A Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics, or Finance (or equivalent experience) is required.  Collections Manager will have knowledge of Elite (or similar) accounting system; bankruptcy law and related eBilling and collection procedures; applicable rules of professional ethics; and rules of Attorney-Client privilege and confidentiality.
