Job Description
Position: Real Estate Paralegal
Location: Century City, CA (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)
Pay: $100,000 to $150,000 annually
Experience: 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate or commercial real estate lending to review and analyze complex corporate organizational documents (operating agreements, limited partnership agreements, and other formation documents).
Education: A paralegal certificate or attorney attestation is required; Bachelors degree is preferred.
Type: Full-time; Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm
Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join our dynamic law firm client!
Job Description:
- Review title exception documents, identify needed updates, and discuss with attorneys.
- Prepare title review summaries and title objection letters in connection with acquisitions.
- Request and negotiate pro forma title insurance policies – both lender and owner policies (if applicable, UCC policies for mezzanine loans).
- Prepare estoppel certificates and SNDAs; Review surveys; Request and finalize revisions to surveys.
- Order/review zoning reports. Request and coordinate revisions / correction with zoning consultant.
- Coordinate preparation of settlement statements with title companies and clients.
- Miscellaneous due diligence (updating closing checklists, participate in checklist calls, download loan documents).
- Order and review certified organizational documents and good standing certificates.
- Obtain EIN for newly formed entities.
- File organizational documents with secretaries of state, including qualifications to do business.
- Coordinate with search companies (independent directors, agents for service of process).
- File and register entities in different states.
- Review documents for completion, order and review judgment and lien searches, complete documents and assemble Exhibits for closing, and finalize documents for recording.
- Preparing signature page documents, coordinate/supervise signing parties, assemble documents, coordinate with title companies.
- File UCC1 financing statements, amendments, assignments, terminations, and coordination of filings.
- Follow up with title companies and prepare closing binders.
Position Requirements:
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) is required.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet required deadlines.
- Must be able to exercise considerable judgment and discretion and establish good working relationships with all stakeholders.
