Senior Recruiting and Administration Manager

Major law firm seeks a Recruiting and Administration Senior Manager with 8 years of law firm or legal recruiting experience to handle recruiting and professional development for the Los Angeles office, coordinating firmwide efforts with New York. The Senior Legal Recruiter will handle the fall on-campus and office interview process, summer associate program, new associate arrivals, and administration of associate training and attorney CLE programs. Selected candidate will also participate in Risk Management and other Administration responsibilities.
Candidate will evaluating past recruiting successes and plan upcoming events accordingly; coordinate with New York and act as firm liaison for West Coast law schools on campus interviews; prepare materials; coordinate catering and staffing; plan and attend callback dinners, receptions, and offer dinners. The Senior Manager will establish and maintain personal contact with law school career placement personnel; other Los Angeles firms’ recruiting coordinators; and membership with the Los Angeles Association of Legal Recruiting Administrators, and participate on related panels and committees.
Candidate will pre-screen resumes for the Hiring Partner; respond to candidates following interviews; and schedule callback interviews, lunches and dinners, attending and escorting candidates; coordinate with New York on travel arrangements and expense coordination and reimbursement. The Manager will compile and maintain evaluation, offer, and acceptance data; and notify candidates and attorneys of hiring and acceptance decisions.
Other responsibilities include overseeing the summer program including budgeting, dates, housing, salaries, offices, support staff and advisor assignments, orientation, and training. Selected candidate will also coordinate summer events; handle social media profiles for firm attorneys and summer associates; and the office intranet recruiting page; and plan and attend associate farewell dinners.
Professional development responsibilities include coordinating CLE meetings and maintaining up-to-date on California CLE rules; and managing the State Bar registration process for admitted attorneys.
The Recruiting and Administration Senior Manager will participate on firm Contingency and Disaster Recovery Team, planning and testing for potential threats and disaster recovery plans, testing and maintaining recovery and backup system. Other risk management activities include overseeing information security.
The qualified Recruiting Manager will have a bachelor’s degree (J.D. preferred), and outstanding interpersonal skills. Knowledge of NALP recruiting practices and standards and California CLE rules is required. Candidate must have MS Office proficiency, and experience with PeopleSoft is a plus. The ability to connect with various personalities and maintain confidentiality is essential. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening, weekend, and travel required.
