Word Processor - Swing Shift
Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Large law firm seeks a swing shift Word Processor with 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include creating, editing, and manipulating legal documents; and (as needed) handling intake, clarifying instructions, negotiating deadlines, logging requests, and communicating status of jobs to staff requestors. Candidate will be proofreading for accuracy; converting and formatting documents from one application to another; troubleshooting and stabilizing documents; and utilizing the document management system to retrieve, deliver, and manage documents. The hours are 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, with overtime flexibility needed for nights, weekends, and holidays.
The qualified Legal Word Processor must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidate should have MS Office advanced features skills; experience working in a center environment is preferred. The Document Processor must have a strong knowledge of Acrobat, with experience in OmniPage, Visio, Interwoven, Best Authority, Deal Proof, Workshare Compare, Litera Change-Pro, Publisher, Remote Assistance, Photoshop and DocXtools. Fluency in European languages (German, French, Italian, or Spanish) is a plus. Microsoft certifications are preferred. The ability to learn new software quickly is essential. Candidate will be expected to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
